CTI Genesys Siebel 8.1.1.11

After upgrading to Siebel 8.1.1.11 from 8.1.1.7 the Genesys Gplus adapter process is not starting on the CTI host, and no connection attempts are made outbound to GPlus hosts. Furthermore there are no entries in %Siebel_Root%\BIN\GenCommDrv_*.log files. Does anyone know what could cause this? Is the Gplus Adapter 8.0 for Siebel compatible with Siebel 8.1.1.11?
