Can we use Process Quality functions without item STATUS control?

Hi All,

Master Item function has two attribute controls which driven by quality. One is item Status code attribute and another is Grade attribute. Grade is optional one as well as depends on business call. We can restrict transactions based on status code which has been establised.

My questions are;

Can we use OPM-Process Quality module where item was not enabled as status control?

Where this status control might be impacted?
