Help needed installing 11gR2 on Windows 2008 using CIFS/dNFS from NETAPP storage.

Hi,

I'm trying to setup an Oracle 11.2.0.4.0 DB on a Windows 2008 server, I've had our storage team create a volume on the NETAPP filer and export this so I can mount it by either CIFS or NFS on the windows host, the intention is to set up the database first using CIFS and then setup the DB to use dNFS to access the filestore.

I've first installed the database software to the hosts local storage and then mapped the netapp volume as a network drive on the host using the map network drive option and I can see the drive listed in the file explorer but when I try to run DBCA to create a new database it stops during the setup phase with this error stating it is unable to create the necessary files on the CIFS mounted storage.

Howdy, Stranger!
