Receiving Option: Interface to Advanced Pricing

We are researching the intended funcitonality of the Receiving Option: Interface to Advanced Pricing. We have been unable to find definitive documentation as to the purpose of this check-box, and how Advanced Pricing is leveraging the receiving option.

The Purchasing Documentation, and the application help is overly generic:

"If you have implemented Oracle Advanced Pricing to calculate cost factors, check Interface to Advanced Pricing."

This setup option is not identified in any of the supporting documentation for Advanced Pricing. There are indications that this might be an integration component for LCM; however, the LCM documentation does not address is as a setup requirement. In addition, there is the possibility that it is leveraged by Sourcing for cost factors; however, that is not documented in the PON documentation.
