Urgent: Read-only picklist

Hi,

I've renamed one of the standard object (Vehicle object renamed as Cost) as per requirement. Now, when I'm trying to map few of its respective "Required" fields with the proposed fields given in requirement; I'm getting stuck on few of the required read-only picklist field(s) like "Product Name" whereby its not showing any LOV's by default. Is this a standard behavior?

A read-only picklist can't be modified anyhow i.e. its LOV's or applying any validation / formula / JoinField function etc.? How can I utilize this field as its mandatory to be available in the layout?

Appreciate quick help please.
