How do you update the user profile?

When I attempt to save my profile I get "We could not complete your request. Please check the form for details.". The last time I just put in my Title and I don't get any indication on the form of anything in error. Do I have to have additional authority? I even watched the How to Update Your Profile again to see if I was doing anything wrong. Sally didn't seem to have any problems.
