CRM, BRM, ATG integration queries

Dear Folks,

I have a question which might not be perfectly suitable in this group but I am not aware where to put my query.

We would be going to install & integrate below applications, for each application separate team would be working out for installation & configuration.

1.BRM (Billing & Revenue Management)
2.Siebel CRM
3.AIA
4.OSM
5.UIM
6.ASAP
7.OCOMC
8.Comptel
9.PH4C
10.BIP
11.ATG

As a part of database team, I would like to know

1. Usually how database configuration is done while these kind of environment is setup?

2. Do we require to create a single database and each application would be having a separate schema OR separate database need to be installed for each application?
