SQL Tuning adviser

I have indentified a long running sql, ran sql tuning advisor from OEM 12c, it was advised a sql profile to impliment with 60% performance gain with better plan.

My question is  our job  is still running. If I impliment the sql profile does the running job changes the plan completes faster or do I need to terminate an rerun the report to take the changes effect ?
