new mpt_sas errors in SRU 17.5

We've recently updated several systems to SRU 17.5 (which includes a couple of bug fixes and mpt_sas driver update) and began noticing these in our system logs:

I've submitted an SR but wouldn't mind troubleshooting on my own while I wait.
