ATP/MRP setup options

I am newbie to ASCP ,so please excuse me for any basic questions.

We are using ASCP on r12 instance,collections are running weekly in our centralized system which is the same as transactional system.

I am seeing a couple of plans we named them as ATP Plan and other MRP Plan.

the only difference between these two plans is in the plan options, constraints tab,

for ATP Plan => Constrained Plan is checked, Enforce Capacity Contraints radio button is chosen.

for MRP Plan => Constrained Plan is checked, Enforce Demand Due Dates radio button is chosen.

My undertanding is that

ATP plan is basically to provide for any particular item, it will give the available date.
