Database Backup and Recovery (MOSC)

Duplicate database on Windows to different server.

Hi all,

I have not been successful at duplicating a production database to the development server.  Here is the infrastructure setup:

Production Server
Windows Server 2003 SP2 64-bit
32GB RAM
2 - 8 Core CPUs with hyperthreading
C: drive (local attached) OS and program files
E: drive (local attached) Oracle binaries, database files
F: drive (local attached) Oracle database files
G: drive (local attached) backup file location
M: drive (local attached) migration / data pump location
X: drive (local attached) data pump location
Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.3
Oracle services running as LocalSystem user


Development Server
Windows Server 2003 SP2 64-bit
8GB RAM
2 - 4 Core CPUs with hyperthreading
