Question on the transfer of Open AR and AP Balances from Legacy to JDE 9.1

Hi Community

We will be transitioning to a new install of JDE 9.1 however it has been proposed that the AR and AP open balances be left on the legacy system i.e.what is open at the time of cutover be left and closed out on the old system by payments and cash application.

Is this a viable option and what is the best way to transfer the cash receipts and payment records  to 9.1 The legay system will be in the hands of the company for a little while and AP and AR transactions from the time of cutover will be recorded in 91.  Anny suggestions will be welcome
