QUESTION ABOUT CONVERTING AN ORACLE RAC-ONE DB TO STANDARD EDITION DB

edited Apr 3, 2014 12:00PM in Database Administration (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered

We are about to test a software (IBM Flash Copy) to copy the physical files in our DB from one server to another.

Our source DB is Oracle 11.2.0.3 Enterprise Edition (RAC One-Node) and our target DB is Oracle 11.2.0.3 Standard Edition (Single-Instance).

The end result is that this copy will end up with a Enterprise Edition (RAC One-Node) DB mounted on a Standard Edition Oracle Home.

The question is :

Is this combination supported? If not supported, what are the implications and risks of this combination?

On the other hand, if the source DB was Oracle Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.3 (RAC One-Node) and the target DB was Oracle Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.3 (Single-Instance) :

Howdy, Stranger!
