Maximum Age Limits

Within the admin guide it states that if a value is provided, a warning flag is created for those items over that amount of days.  I just want to confirm if we leave these fields blank, users won't get any violations no matter the age of the transactions input?  And I assume the field needs to be left blank and not input a zero?
