Migration Solaris to Linux

We are embarking on a re-platforming exercise ( Solaris to Linux ), I would like to learn from any experiences of the members in undertaking similar exercise.

What is the most efficient way to perform the migrations whether to use Transportable tablespaces, export/import or Golden Gate or Cloning, I have performed migrations a few years ago from Solaris to Windows, things definitely have improved over the years with new technologies and features.

I would really appreciate if any of the members can share their experiences and provide some pointers in the right direction.
