Can update package be deployed when new machine is installed with fat client

Hi, i am curious if update package will be deploy into new fat client ? Say this full package got 12 update packages...will all these 12 update package be deployed...what i know is the latest full package will be deployed whenever i run the fat client setup .

if update package is not deployed, can i activate the update package and deploy to specific fat client...this will be done w/o new package build ....can this be done ? meaning just skip the update package build and straight to deployment to client...

pls advice...
