Moving ASM disks between AIX host LPARs

Hello Oracle DBs. I work primarily as an IBM PowerVM support specialist and AIX administrator. I'm not Oracle DB savvy so I appreciate your input if you can help.

We have an AIX host LPAR with a number of JFS2 formatted and raw ASM disks configured. The ASM disks are controlled under the Grid Control (?) product and from an AIX standpoint I simply use a mknod command to create a character device file (e.g. /dev/ora_asm_data1), which points to a corresponding virtual SCSI disk (hdisk) using the major/minor numbers (e.g.):

brw-------    1 root     system       13,  4 Sep 12 2013  /dev/hdisk3
