Content Management visibility

Currently all our reports are in separate folders under the "Shared Analyses" hierarchy.

However none of them are assigned to any Role (via Content management) and therefore by default public for everyone.

When I assign a folder to specific Roles, the others will not be able to see that folder from the reports tab, but if I have a report from that folder on the Homepage or record detail page will it still remain visible to all users or only to users having that specific role?

In general, when assigning roles to each folder via Content Management,

  • are we limiting visibility only to the folder from the reports tab?
