Canada Payroll - options for the tax rates

We are using Canadian Payroll for a very small number of employees in one Province.  We use an outside tax service that is getting very costly, and want to look at options.

Does anyone update the pension and unemployment rates directly into the JDE table and not purchase a third party service? If so, how?

What third party providers are being used and do you like the level of service for the cost of the product?
