Sub Ledger Accounting Method Usage

Hi,

We are upgrading from Oracle EBS 11i to R12. As such, we do not have any custom rules for SLA.

Can we use default SLAM method i.e. Standard Accrual AS-IS or do we need to rename and use it though we don't have any custom business rules? This thought is in assumption that in case if we get new custom rules in future. We would like to know the best practice in using the SLAM method.
