Can we use AME for Journal approval in R12

What i heard is ,GL Journal approval is not integrated with AME so none of AME features applies to GL Journal Approval.

I found one bug:

  1. Bug 7504287 JOURNAL APPROVAL TO BE INTEGRATED WITH APPROVALS MANAGEMENT (AME)) is raised.

Please let me know if we can use AME for Journal approval in R12. We have this requirement to use AME in GL journal approval. If anybody come accross with this requirement and have any solution. Please share your idea.
