Slow insert into RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALL after shipment - Order Management

Hello,

After 8 years in production with no major problems we are facing an issue that lines (after order process is completed with shipment) get written into RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALL interface table very slowly eg. several minutes apart.

Due to this invoices (that are created immediately upon shipment) are created with missing lines (result in several invoices).

We are running Autoinvoice Purge Program regularly and we also ran Purge Obsolete Workflow Runtime Data. The second did not purge the bulk of the workflow data and we assume this is because sales orders stay in status open, even when all order lines are closed or cancelled. Is there an option to change sales order status or do you know how to close it to successfully purge workflow data?
