Valuation Accounts for subinventories in Average Costing Org

Hello,

User guide and help indicates that when defining Accounts for subinventories in an Average Costing org, the valuation accounts can be entered but will not be used. How then is valuation account determined for items from these subinventories in Average Costing organization?
