Goldengate lag tweak..Pls advise..

For reducing the data conflicts, I need to speed up the Goldengate lag. From heartbeat monitoring script, i am see the extract process lag is bit timetaken. From resource wise we have abandon cpu, memory  & network bandwidth allocation and awr report is normal.  Is there any room to improve this? it's redhat linux, is there any kernal parameter i need to look into it  for tweaking? Source db is 10g and target db is 11g, where i can't use integrated capture mode... 

Please advise.
