Problem found when sending SMS from Siebel

In my Siebel application, I am trying to send SMS from Contact Screen using the shortcut key Alt+F9 . The issue is that the activity is not getting created under that particular contact. I noticed the same issue when trying to send email using "Send Email" button or using the shortcut F9 . Kindly Advise .
