Migrating archives to another media type ?

If planning to migrate SAM-QFS archived data from one media type to another, you'll want to try to minimally impact the everyday operation of SAM-QFS and system resources, during your migration.

The size of your disk cache, the number of tape drives available, and the current activity of your file system, all play a role in this migration and must be considered when developing a migration strategy.  Typically some throttling of the migrating data will be needed, to allow for normal operations to complete smoothly.
