Troubleshooting a Power Supply Failure.

There are many ways a power supply can fail or trigger a fault alert. Here are a few simple checks

you can make when trying to determine the health of a power supply.

Every CMT server document set has a site planning or installation guide that provides

the electrical specifications required for that server.  For example:

SPARC T5-8 Server HTML Collection

has sections for

  • Electrical Specifications (Fully Populated)
  • Electrical Specifications (Half Populated)
  • Power Cord Specifications

that should be reviewed if environmental power is suspect.

Also in this section is a Note - Oracle ILOM will signal a fault if both power supplies are not cabled at the same
