Upgrading eBS RDBMS to 12.1

RDBMS 12.1 for AIX was released in Jan . of 2014, premier support expires for RDBMS 11.2 as of Jan. 2015.   We are concerned about the stability of R12.1 on AIX, as it has only been released for about 4 months.  What are the chances that Oracle would provided "free" extended support for RDBMS 11.2 beyond Jan. 2015?   Also, for those eBS clients that have upgraded their database from 11.2 to 12.1, would you mind sharing your experiences and recommendations, please?
