query regarding preferred instance for database services

Hello,

Suppose I have service ors supported by local listener in both the rac nodes and preferred instance for that service is node 1 and available is node 2.

=>  Will the client connections to this service go to both the instances inspite of the fact that  srvctl status service -d db is giving the service running on only preferred instance?

=>The remote listener -should that be set to scan or we can also set to the node vip
