CS 9.0 which application bundles needs PS Tools 8.53?

Hi,

My customer is using CS9.0 Tools 8.52.  They are at bundle #21. They are about to upgrade Tools to 8.53 and applying application patch to bundle #33 at the same time.

I am aware of Doc ID 1365646.1 PeopleTools Adoption Policy which mentioned that some functionlity delivered in bundle#33 depends on Tools 8.53 and have seen some discussions in this support community re the problem of tools 8.52 when applying CS bundle#31.

Question:

1. What is the cut of CS bundle number that PeopleTools 8.52 can have?

2. Which is the best apporoch, between a) upgrade PS Tools 8.52 to 8.53 first then apply app patches bundle 22 to 33 and b) apply application patches bundle 22 to 33 and then upgrade PS Tools 8.52 to 8.53?
