Upgrade Path from 2.2 to 2.9

Greetings,

I currently have two V1 ODAs running 2.2 ready to be reimaged and repurposed for our lower environment. I recall reading that I could not upgrade directly to 2.9 from 2.2 but I can not find where I read that. Does anyone know what the upgrade path is from 2.2 to 2.9? Before anyone asks why I am not upgrading to 2.10 it is because I need to test the process of upgrading to 2.10 when I have standby databases in place before proceeding with the production upgrade.
