ARM Reconciliation show pending status even though the period is opened

Hi,

We use version 11.1.2.3.500

The issue is that the reconciliation is set with start date 09/05/2014.

Then the user open the period on 09/05/2014 at 3:45PM. The status of the reconciliation stay the same.

Then the user close the period and re-open it at 4:03PM. The status of the reconciliation stay the same (pending).

Later, at 4:33PM, the user got the following email:

Subject: Information on scheduler for Period Apr 2014

The routine to auto reconcile instances which start today has failed.

These instances will be picked up in the next cycle which starts tomorrow.

Questions:

1. What's the email means?

2. Should the reconciliation opened immediately when the period is opened?
