Configuring OCM

Oracle 11.2.0.3 Std Ed One

Am just starting to look into use of OCM and after reading most of the Installation and Administration Guide (E48361-02 – November 2013) have a few observations/questions to try to figure out exactly where I am and my direction forward.

 

First, in para 3.3.1 of the referenced document, it states that when installing Oracle with the OUI, when presented with the screen to provide credentials, if you select ‘I want to remain uninformed …’, that OCM will be installed in disconnected mode.
That is fine with me, and when I did the software install for 11.2.0.3  (and 11.2.0.2 previously) that was the selection I made.  BTW, these software installs were for upgrades .. no database was create at installation time, and databases were upgraded ‘out of place’ at a later time.
