Item and quantity does not show up as Demand even if the the sales order is booked and scheduled

Dear Members,

I need help on the following issue in Oracle EBS Inventory (R12) -

If we book a sales order in OM then does Oracle create demand for this sales order in system ? Since on-hand is 0 quantity is not reserved.

If yes, then I believe it should appear in "Item Demand/Supply" form in inventory > On-hand menu.

My question is - What set up is required in order to see that sales order has created a demand for that inventory item into "Item Demand/Supply" form in Inventory. Assumption is there is no reservation exists as no on-hand was available.
