Replication between source and target which are running different versions of firmware.

We have three Unified Storage appliances:  two 7210s and one 7310.  The 7210s both replicate to the 7310.  All are running the same version of firmware, which is 2011.04.24.4.0.  We plan on upgrading all of them to 2011.1.9.0, one at a time.  My question is this:  can our 7210s remain on version 2011.04.24.4.0 and still replicate to the 7310 if it is on version 2011.1.9.0?  I realize that this not recommended by Oracle, but has anyone tried replicating between two Unified Storage appliances which were not on the same firmware release? 

The Release Notes do not say it will or won't work.  Of course we can replicate between the 7210s, but eventually one of them will be upgraded to 2011.1.9.0 and the other will remain on 2011.04.24.4.0 for a week or so until it is upgraded.  Has anyone tried replicating between a source and target which were one different firmware versions?re
