Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. OCR and vote disks inside ASM advantages

Hi

We upgraded our ASM from 11.1 to 11.2.0.3 but we still storing OCR and VOTES in RAW disks.

1- Are there any documented advantages in storing them inside an ASM diskgroup?

2- if rudundancy is provided at the SAN level, it it enough for storing OCR and VOTEs in ASM?
