How does "Configuring automatic channels for use with a media manager" Work?

Hello Experts,

I want to know how the PARMS specified  in Configure channel get passed to MML? Like ,

E.g. CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE sbt PARMS='ENV=(NSR_SERVER=tape_svr, NSR_CLIENT=oracleclnt, NSR_GROUP=oracle_tapes)'  FORMAT "BACKUP_%U";

I could not find any SBT API which is associated/relevant with this. E.g. We have sbtcommand API which gets called in case of "send" command on the channels.

Kindly advise.
