PO status in Pre-Approval with cancelled WF

Is there a way to clear out a PO which was in status Pre-Approval but subsequentially had it's WF cancelled. For the time being I put the PO on hold as it's the only status I'm allowed select from Pre-approval. How can I cancel this PO?
