Oracle Access Manager - AccessGate related questions

Friends,

I am working on migrating from 10g OSSO to 11gR2 OAM. We currently are using 10g OSSO with EBS 12.1.3 and OID 11gR2. This is my first prototype. I am using the note # 1484024.1 as a master

note for this. I have following questions regarding EBS Accessgate.

1. Does EBS Accessgate have to be installed and running on the same node where EBS middle tier services are running?

2. Does Webgate call Accessgate using the HTTP URL and accessgate port or it communicates via Oracle Access Protocol (OAP)? I am trying to figure out how the call is made to Accessgate.
