Restricting Search in Open UI ?

Hello,

Per "How Can We Restrict Full Text Searches on Application Find Objects and Require Users To Enter a Value in at Least One Find Field Before They Search? (Doc ID 477319.1)", there is a well defined approach to restricting search, and this works well in HI client.

But in Open UI, the 'Find Entry' BusComp seems not to be used.  Does anyone know of an alternative approach to achive the same with Open UI ?
