Shutdown Immediate Hangs

Hi!

My goal is to upgrade a database from version 10.2.0.4 to version 11.2.0.3 on AIX 7.1. But after recompilation phase the database hungs during restart for about 4 hours and it appears that it isn't doing anything.

The problem is that this a test upgrade and we won't have such a big window during upgrade of the production db.

I also tried to do @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql on the 10.2.0.4 version, the database also hungs.  I've tried to trace the shutdown process on the 11g db using  "alter session set events '10046 trace name context forever,level 12';" but there is no information regarding the wait:
