Understanding work-orderless completions

Hello,

I'm slightly confused in the work-orderless completions. I'm trying to do a work-orderless completion for a component on 5/20 but the routings of this BOM has been setup only on 5/24. Oracle lets me completion the workorderless transaction for the BOM only when the routing is being setup. The BOM is completed only on the 5/26 since the components are added at different effectivity start dates. How does this impact the overall weekly balances? Also can you explain me how the Oracle behaves for entering past dates transaction date while performing work orderless completions.
