Impact of change in account number for internal bank account

Hi All  ,

We are currently facing an issue ( 11.5.10) with bank statement import which requires a change in the account number defined in the Payables . This account is being used  currently for the payments and receipts as well . Can anyone share their experience for such a change and the impact the account number change will have . From Oracle perspective it allows me to change the number . Guess we will need to clear all the pending transactions- receipt and payments before the change . Will it have any impact on the historical data for the payments/receipts .
