relocating redo/standby redo logs

I have a database in a data guard configuration with a physical standby (oracle 11g). Currently the redo and standby redo logs (in both environments) are co-located with our .dbf files in /oracle/data directories.Per IBM's recommendation we've been told to move the redo files to new mount points with a block size of 512 bytes. The primary and standby directory configurations are different so the init parameter log_file_name_convert is used to map the directory structures. Can i move the redo and standby redo files in both environments with out bringing down the databases? I've not seen much on this topic online. I'd love step-by-step instructions how one might do this even if i need to bring down the databases.

Howdy, Stranger!
