Couple of Wallet questions

edited Jun 3, 2014 1:16PM in Database Security Products (MOSC) 3 commentsAnswered

When you add a new credential to an Oracle Wallet with mkstore you need to provide the Wallet password to decrypt it.Why don't clients needs to prompt for the password to decrypt the credentials before passing them on to Oracle? How are they decrypting the Wallet?

Also, suppose I have a 100 databases and I use the same credential for all of them. Is there a way to tell the Wallet to use the same credential for all databases without entering it for 100 databases?

I see that there are some SSO options available with mkstore, but I can't find any documentation on them. Would that be what I need to use for the situation described above? How do I set up SSO? Does it require purchasing the advanced security option? If so then it wont be an option for me.

Howdy, Stranger!
