Upgrade 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.4 (install first and latter upgrade)

Hi All

I need to upgrade my 4 node rac from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.4. currently I am trying to find out the alternatives and best way to upgrade with less amount of down time.

I was told that we can install grid infrastructure in a new home and then say few days latter upgrade the GRID infrastructure, however I have not been able to find any document regarding this method. if this is in fact possible can you please let me know where I can find any information about this.
