firefox ver 24.4.0 very slow

trying to use firefox ver 24.4.0 to access myoracle , and response is very slow, when maneuvering between tabs e.g

from service requests to patches & updates it takes 20-30 seconds. the same operation on another Linux server, using firefox 17.0.10 is much faster. both Linux servers involved are running oel 5.9,  the kernel where it's slow

is 2.6.32-400.36.1.el5uek, the kernel where its faster is 2.6.39-400.210.2.el5uek...
