RMA set ups for Brazil

Hi, i am in the process of creating RMA sets up for Brazil in R12.1.3. I was only able to book the RMA order after loading the country Brazil into the JG_DISABLE_GLOBALIZATION lookup. The description for this lookup says it disables globalisation features - i am not sure what the impact of disabling this will be on other parts of the system. Can someone briefly explain if this will cause any problems by setting the value in the lookup.
