Expenditure item date falls in future period

Hello Experts 

Is there any config to control the date list of values for expenditure item date field in PO distributions

My users have selected 30-Dec-2014 as the expenditure item date on the PO because of this, the invoice that was matched to this PO has got the future item date and these costs are not interfacing to projects

We are in R12.1.2
