CLSGN-00186: Insufficient privileges.

Hi, the command "   srvctl status gns -n racuat01 " fails with error CLSGN-00186: Insufficient privileges. Does this need to be run as root user ? I ran it from grid user. If its root, then , can someone upload the sample output so that I can see what it returns?
